The Deck Workout

The \"Deck\" WorkoutThis is a quick workout that can be done anywhere with no equipment, except a deck of cards. It is intense and keeps the heart rate elevated throughout. Pick out 9 exercises- the 9 from the video are listed below. Take your deck of cards, including the jokers. Flip over the first 3 cards. You will add them up as if you’re playing the game 21. Face cards equal 10, and jokers and aces equal 11. For your first exercise, you will do the number of the first 3 cards you flip over. Flip 3 more over, and do that many for the second exercise, and continue this sequence until you have gone through the entire deck of cards. By the time you have completed the deck, you will have gone through each exercise twice. Once you get the hang of this, be creative– add your own exercises, pick out 18 exercises, take it to the gym and use this system with equipment, etc. If you’re up for a greater challenge, go through the deck twice or even three times. One time through should take about 15 minutes, but this also depends on the exercises you choose. Listed are the 9 exercises from the video:

The Breck Workout!

My wife and I got to spend some quality time together in beautiful Breckenridge, CO over the weekend. I thought of this workout while I was there so that is why it is called the Breck workout. Now there are 4 exercises: 1) puch-ups, 2) reverse plank knee tuck, 3) crab toe touchers, 4) stomp kicks. Each exercise will flow right into the next continuous for 5 minutes. You will do 4 rounds, 5 minutes each, with 30 second rest after each round. Round 1 you will do 5 reps each exercise, round 2 you will do 10 reps, round 3 you will do 15 reps, round 4 you will do 20 reps for a total of a 20 minute workout.
